Feature Requests

Now my workflow is to convert the summaries in markdown and then read them in Obsidian to take advantage of the Outline Feature inside Obsidian. It'd nicer to be able to have an outline straightly inside Recall.

It would be great to be able to add comments to the editor content. Not so much for collaboration, but just for me to remind myself of things. E.g. "This section should be longer."

Being a power user of Notion and Kortex, I loved the ability to be able to create subdocuments or subpages inside of every page. Right now, Recall Notes is a single-paged interface. If this feature of being able to nest subnotes inside of a notebook was introduced, Recall would become my top app for Knowledge Management.

Add the ability to run a spell check on Notebook content to correct transcription global misspellings.

One feature request that I have would be something like "Today's Note" that's calendar aware. Today's Note will be automatically be created each day but not necessary clutter the left side of the screen (maybe a calendar or something?) User scenarios: I'm at a supermarket and I overhear a conversation that mentions "active recall" and I have no idea what it is. I'm interested but I don't have time to research it there because I need to shop for like 20 things. So I make a note in "Today's Note". Later that day, I have time now. I open Recall on my desktop, go to Today's Note and highlight "active recall" to create a new card and hit expand. A new card "Active Recall" is created and has a backlink to "Today's Note" for the day. I'm now a little bit knowledgeable 🙂 I need to pick up my girlfriend at the airport on say, October 25, 2025. On my Today's Note for September 25, 2024, I jot down "Need to pick up girlfriend on 10/25/2024". Recall has a setting called "Reminder Days" and you can choose how many days before a task you want to be reminded. I chose 2 days. When October 23, 2024 comes, on the Today's Note for that day, there's an entry that says, "Reminder: Need to pick up girlfriend on 10/25/2024" and there's a backlink to Today's Note for September 25, 2025. Until October 25, 2024, that reminder and the backlink is mentioned on all the Today's Note and I get to live and not get my butt kicked.

Organising notebook... Sometimes I want to have a summary of a whole article, and then also add summaries for specific parts of an article. Would be great if I can organize the notebook of a card. I'm thinking folders, or links that open a list of links to open different summaries (as to have them categoriesed). Or maybe even the possibility to make a mindmap. Or if there is a better way of organizing that I'm not thinking of. But a way to easily see AI summaries and my own notes. As of now it's just a super long scroll, and it's easy to get lost.

Ive used a LOT of these tools. Most use markup language. Im currently using Heptabase and tried to just copy and paste a note. Completely lost all the formatting and collapsed sections. I also did not see an import feature to import my Heptabase files to see what would happen. How would I get cards from Heptabase and retain formatting?

When copying from Claude, Gemini, might be markdown ##heading which indicates title, heading. Using this feature when copying it display to ## this formatting not correct.

If the Notebook tab is to be use as a true note taking area, the embedded media will provide clarity and flow of thoughts. Especially when you create a note card and you do not have the option for the reader tap. Embedding media for example are video, audio, and pictures.

Recall already has great custom tags. This feature would add a fast, visual priority layer on top of them. I would love the ability to mark notes with simple visual indicators, for example: • ★ 1 to ★ 5 star ratings • An important or urgent icon • A small color dot or badge Most importantly, these indicators should be visible directly in the notes list view. Why this is valuable Tags are excellent for structure and meaning, but visual markers work differently: • Instantly recognizable • Easy to scan across many notes • Usable without reading or interpretation This makes it much easier to: • Decide what to work on next • Spot high impact or time sensitive notes • Manage large note collections at a glance How this complements tags Tags describe what a note is about. Visual indicators show how important it is. Both support different mental models and work best together. Minimal implementation would already help Even a very lightweight version, such as a star rating shown next to the note title in list view, would significantly improve daily usability. This would make Recall feel not only powerful, but also immediately readable and action oriented.
