Hello there. What I suggest doing is going into your settings and turning off all the automated actions - turn your default action to open reader and toggle off the automated tags and connections. That way, whenever you click the Recall extension / save content, it won't be counted as one of the Recall cards. Instead, you can only turn it into one of your Recall cards when you actually generate the summary, connections, or tags.

Essentially, the Recall card gets counted when there's an AI action applied to a card. Let me know if that makes sense, and feel free to message us at support@recall.it so we can continue to get your feedback.
