Right now you can only highlight in the Notebook section, but not the main text or transcript. I would like to be able to highlight and optionally pop a section into the Notebook to add my own thoughts.

Perhaps not only highlight, but also edit? I noticed several errors in the YouTube transcription. The errors are understandable, but editing them in the source text could correct errors in summaries and so on.

Love to have PDF annatation functions and automatically list those highlights in a separate tab.

Allow highlighting text in the reader and make the highlighted text appear in the relevant notebook.

I've lots of highlights buried in my notebook's cards... I need a way to see them in a list, and to link/create new cards from them....

Seamless Knowledge Expansion with Highlight to Create
C
Carter Krech
As a Recall user actively exploring my knowledge base,
I want a feature that allows me to highlight text within a knowledge card and create a new, related knowledge card with minimal effort,
So that I can expand my knowledge base dynamically, ensuring comprehensive coverage of topics of interest and filling gaps in my understanding.
Acceptance Criteria
Text Highlighting for New Card Creation: Users can highlight text within any knowledge card, which triggers an option to create a new knowledge card based on the highlighted text.
Automatic Research and Summary Generation: Upon opting to create a new card, Recall automatically searches the web and the existing knowledge base for information related to the highlighted text. If relevant information is found online, the system generates a summary and compiles links to the sources.
Duplication Check: Before creating a new card, the system checks the existing knowledge base to ensure a card on the same or a similar topic doesn't already exist, preventing redundant information accumulation.
User Confirmation and Editing: After automatic generation, users are presented with a draft of the new knowledge card, which they can edit, add to, or approve before it's added to the knowledge base.
Linking New and Existing Cards: The new card is automatically linked to the original card from which the text was highlighted, establishing a connection between the two for easier navigation and understanding of related topics.

Yes, excellently formulated request which also covers my wish on being able to supported by AI, create text on cards which have been newly created as I have identified them as a keyword in another notebook text. But this feature is realized my request would be included as well. I have discovered a button called "Expand" on this or something like that. I cannot explain when this button is appearing on empty cards and when not. Definitely this button is not appearing on cards which are created manually, and this is a pity because that could help to expand knowledge from AI on cards which have been manually created. But it's implicitly included in your request.
