Being able to have all memory files stored on a personal computer similar to how the note taking app Obsidian does.
This could also mean easier additions to how the user inputs data into their knowledgebase and could open doors to integrating with persistent day to day meeting and presentation capture.

Upload local files to Recall

It would be useful and make Recall my one tool if we could upload files from device to Recall. Recall does an amazing job with web pages, videos, etc but it’s a continuing frustration that I can’t upload a document, image or markdown doc from my computer to my Recall.

Hi! I'm merging this request with our local support request 😊

nicole I’m not certain that my request is the same as the OP’s. I am asking to be able to upload local files to Recall. The OP is asking that Recall data be stored locally like Obsidian and some other Knowledge Bases do.

nicole Hi Nicole. I think it wasn't a good idea to merge that, because these are two different requests. I support the original request 100%. And the merged one, that actually already exists, because there's already a bulk import for markdown files.
The original request goes in a direction that I'd also like to see more strongly, in terms of market development - more and more people wanting to use local AI. And also not wanting to hand over certain data and databases.
The question is just how you can technically realize that and what would really make sense.
That Recall also sees and processes data that's stored locally - as long as it's not possible to also integrate local AI and say Recall has to analyze the locally integrated data with local AI too, it doesn't make much sense from my point of view. Because otherwise, even though the data is hosted locally, it still has to leave the computer for processing in the AI. Although only the parts that are necessary for the request.
That's a concept you'd probably need to think about a bit longer - whether and how best to realize it.
