Read Status + Archiving Mechanism
N
Nigel .
Mark items as “read” and auto-move them to an archive so the main feed stays focused only on unread or active content, while still retaining full access for AI chat and search.
Implementation Suggestions:
Tri-State Read System:
Unread (default)
In Progress (optional, time-based or manual)
Read (auto or manual mark)
Auto-Archive Toggle: When an item is marked “Read,” have an optional setting to auto-archive it.
Archived Tab / Smart Folder:
Maintain a full index of archived items accessible via search or filters.
AI still uses archived content as part of its contextual database unless manually excluded.
AI Smart Recall:
When chatting, users can toggle whether archived items should be included in the AI’s memory pool.
This prevents feed clutter while maintaining long-term cognitive utility—critical for your workflow where past insights may be relevant to future synthesis.

I'm currently testing Lazy.so, which has this capability, and I find it more annoying than useful. While the option to utilize a "Done" state would be cool, I view contents within Recall as an archive of information that I am saving to recall & manipulate it as I need it. In this scenario, it would never be done.
