Shared Workspaces for Recall
Sankari Nair
Enable users to organize their Recall experience into separate work and personal spaces, with the ability to create collaborative shared workspaces for teams and groups.
The Problem
Currently, all Recall cards exist in one space, making it difficult to:
- Keep work and personal information separate
- Share relevant cards with teammates or collaborators
- Collaborate on shared knowledge without cluttering individual spaces
Proposed Solution
Phase 1: Personal Workspace Separation
- Work Space: Professional cards, meeting notes, project information
- Personal Space: Personal interests, recipes, travel plans, etc.
- Easy switching between spaces with visual indicators
Phase 2: Collaborative Shared Workspaces
- Shared card collections: Create workspaces that multiple people can access
- Real-time collaboration: Team members can view, edit, and add cards together
- Flexible permissions: Control who can view, edit, or manage each workspace
We'd love your input on:
- How would you want to switch between workspaces?
- What permissions would be most important to you?
- How do you envision discovering and joining shared workspaces?
- What other collaboration features would enhance this?

Spaces .... similar to what other augmented browser apps are doing like Fabric

I have tried your product for the trial period. I do love the browsing experience and the ability to tie that all together. I understand that you can't have both cake (auto tagging, etc.) and whatever else you want (i.e. the somewhat innate desire I have to organize in a hierarchy). However, I did like the Spaces approach that I saw with another app. I would still like the ability to search across the "Canvas" but I need that visual that lumps things together. Seeing a long list of tags and hoping I guess the right one that day is not a good strategy for me. I struggle with this in Devonthink 4 and Obsidian as well. I want something that allows for universal search, but still has a somewhat local first approach. I thought that was Recall's advantage, but I was surprised to see that once my 10 tokens were gone I could no longer export my data to markdown. Not sure why.

for example a different space for school, where i only put school stuff and it doesnt coorelate with the non-school stuff. so when I do my recal review, it only asks school related questions all mixed together.

Separate Instances of Recall

Friends, I am requesting a method for running separate 'instances' or completely disconnected versions of the Recall app that are not interconnected, e.g., one for WORK and one for PLAY (i.e., all my other personal interests: sci-fi, gardening, permaculture, automotive, etc etc). It goes without saying that I do not want to personally pay for 2 separate subscriptions, but I do want my 2 instances of Recall not to be influenced or connect to each other. Thanks for taking such a creative concept and producing such a great app, I am finding it very useful. Cheers!

Ability to isolate groups of cards
R
Rhys Gottwald
It would great if we could isolate cards when chatting to you notes. I imagine this could be done a few was such as
workspaces or vaults,
folders,
or AND filtering of tags, so #tag1 AND #tag2 instead of #tag1 OR #tag2
This would allow for more specific queries.

Multiple Knowledge Bases

Create different knowledge bases, like obsidian vaults, that contain tags and cards associated with that knowledge base. For example, one KB may be work related and another may be persona (diet, workout etc.). Purpose for separation is to be able to chat with a particular KB or create quizes with entire KBs.

Knowledge "isolation"

I would like a way to isolate specific knowledge. Not just by tag. But a way to maybe to only access a sub set of my knowledge at a time. Not an exact copy but something similar to Obsidians vaults.

Knowledge Segmentation

Cyber Strategy
Create knowledge segmentation, based on accounts, privacy, control, security, liability. Some knowledge is our crown jewels, identity, intellectual property, trade marked, copy righted, user, family, other is specific wisdom, knowledge, information, & data categories that should have rules associated with it, and then thier is general knowledge that can be organized and secured in a sinmilar fashion.

I think this request already exists, and I think the best way to implement it would be to have different wallets — like a Private Wallet, a Public Wallet, or a Business Wallet.
The idea is that these wallets would exist completely independently from each other and wouldn't influence one another in any way.

Unclear what this is trying to describe. Sounds sensible, but I am not clear enough to VOTE on it.
